Pencil Vs Camera - 74

Ben Heine Art - 3D Drawing - Pencil Vs Camera - Tiger Owl and Artist in Forest - 2013
Pencil Vs Camera - 74 © Ben Heine| Buy a print
My new giant 3D drawing featuring a tiger and an owl in a dense forest. It is part of my "Pencil Vs Camera" series (the concept is reversed in this image, the only piece of reality in the composition being the human model...). The wild animals and the forest are actually anamorphic sketches drawn on a huge piece of paper in my studio, no more, no less than optical illusions.

A quiet tiger, a scary owl and an imprudent artist, maybe an unexpected trio. I took the photo (using a tripod and a self timer) and also made the giant sketch (handmade,
as usual). View the sketch in progress and some details here below to understand how it is made. New: find some prints of mine for sale (including the above picture) or some fun products and gifts with many of my other designs.

A recent project I made in my new studio. Was I having a dissociative identity disorder or is this just an optical illusion or maybe an invisible 3D mirror? Who will be the winner? You can view the sketch in progress here below (4 steps) and the complete Pencil Vs Camera series at this link. New: Buy the above artwork as a print!

Definitely the most amazing tree I've seen in my whole life. I took this photo in Seville, Spain. If you wish, you can view a detail at this link and some preparatory photos here below.

Ficus macrophylla, commonly known as the Moreton Bay Fig, is a large evergreen banyan tree of the Moraceae family. It is known for its beautiful buttress roots. It can reach heights of 60 m (200 ft). The trunk can reach a diameter of 2.4 m (8 ft).

That was another time consuming project...
This is a digital work but totally handmade

I painted each circle individually on a black
surface. I made a quick preparatory sketch
first (you can see it in the "making of" below)

Touch My Outside Skin
.
By Peter S. Quinn

Touch my outside skin
Trying to reach the bone
I'm everything within
Structured by my tone
Nothing much of difference
From someone like you
Give me and my ways a chance
Make my life come thru

Like a day that’s going by
So is everything going
Flying low and flying high
Inside each track showing
Answers coming to reward
Within days new choice
That we know will start
To surrender its rejoice

Thanks for writing this Peter!

Silences, Alone

By Peter S. Quinn

A silence comes within us all,
When we with darkness again fall;
A shadow creeping softly stays,
And show its vision many ways.
Everything my brain still knows,
Step by step into silences goes;
Dreams and feelings down it break’s,
Away my visions all it takes.

When I am alone and streets I walk,
Silences to me softly talk;
About the heart that was here before,
But is now gone for ever more.

A lonesome soul just only knows,
The restless silence that never goes;
Sharp and shining like a razor blade,
A forgotten love song now too late.
That echoed once from heart to heart,
With promises to never depart;
But now lies resting on its own,
Like silences that are still alone.

Am I wrong to believe in choice, perhaps freedom. Love is told to be a blessing, now I can't find time to blossom. How is it I end up like this for 1 of every 2. Unbelievably conscious and breathing in change. Hesistating to pull my way, but anxious and willing to fight for what I want and believe in. Powerful to point of no control, suddenly I'm taken over, and brought down to being dishonest with myself, or so I think. All I needs an answer... help. Like a stain I feel so notice and vunerable, if only I could wash clean and start over. Indiginous to reality and a concept of concrete, that sometimes slowly crumbles. Falling hurts especially for truth, but truth is I can't really tell, or even see what lies ahead. I know my heart pumps and it's still pretty bossy, inept to telling me what to do, instant and spontaneous I respond in just a beat. I like it though and seem to have this taste with loss of words. Description is even tough to spell. Myself is a whole nother story. Fluent for the most part and going somewhere. Happiness is awaiting arrival, for everyone, simple seclusion sometimes, anything that does the trick. The one you can never figure out. Because it truly is magic and I've seen it, in the walls and in faces. Certain that my life needs a little, for I have my destiny.
