You ever heard dat fools rush in?
Well dat ain’ all dey do.
Fools rush in wearin’ dey glarin’ teef, ya see?
“Clatter click click clatter click clatter clatter”.
Dey fine demselves naked `n shivrin’.
Dey laugh, “heh heh heh…”
Dey don’ care!Hell no dey don’!
Dey don’ tink it matter!
Dis, “heh heh heh”,
dis ain’ no Mista Magoo laughin’.
Uh uh.
Ain’ no laugh of no inconsequential man, neither!
An' it ain' no chuckle o' no blather-sprung chicken!

What of Your Lessons

Weathered bureaucrats, old men, what will you leave us?
You might be right in your warring when men go mad,
But what of your feeding, your strategy, your lessons?
What might we say that you’ve fastened upon our backs?
Pause.
You erected the walls and wept for many a perished soul,
You lobbed and thrust your fury against tyranny’s door,
And sent brave guns mounted of triumph over destruction;
But why didn’t you build a path leading out of empty war?
Pause.
Had you known would you have laid stones along their way?
Took note of burning landmarks in front of each rifle’s aim?
Sang of peace instead of war, love songs instead of anthems?
Stayed home creating love, instead of a tide you couldn’t stem?
Pause.
War is human; it just doesn’t send its own children to do the killing.

It begins:
A statue falls upon tyranny
with great noise!
Its echo swaggers,
“mission accomplished”…

a leader’s sons killed,
a vision most stark,
creating, again,
a most thickset brilliance;
freedom’s clang!

Clang went the bell
across the world's relief;
a government installed
and democracy
does bind its roots
`round a palm tree.

Iraqi born rebellion
stares back in disbelief
at its darkened final throe.

Another leader slain,
collateral blue sky leapt,
a world wheezing,alive,
stunned in death.

Road-side bombs doubled,
slash, rip, bang!
Numbers unfathomable,
America’s in trouble.

Insurgency rage shrieks
strung `round detonation,
it’s coming asunder,
slash, rip, thunder!
Civil war's been rolling
a year or more,
a rough translation.

Niall O' Loughlin
Niall O' Loughlin : Born in Dublin in 1970, after graduating from the Senior Technical College, Ballyfermot in 1989, Niall was quickly snapped up by "Sullivan Bluth Studios." During his career, he worked on major films such as 'The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,' 'All Dogs Go To Heaven,' and 'Help I'm A Fish.' More recently as Chief Animator at Brown Bag Films, Niall was responsible for the delightful animated characters in the highly acclaimed Oscar nominated series, 'Give Up Yer Aul Sins.' Now based in Dublin, Niall divides his time between animation, illustration, painting and of course his first love, caricatures. His work is published weekly in the 'Irish Sunday Mirror' and he is a regular contributor to several other popular magazines. At the age of 35, Niall has quickly become one of the most celebrated cartoonists in his native country, Ireland. Highly sought after by collectors, most of Niall's pieces have sold-out even before the paint has had time to dry. In December 2004 Niall became the first Cartoonist/caricaturist to appear on the worlds longest running and most successful chat show in Ireland the Late Late show.

Paddy Boehm
Paddy Boehm : Born in 1973 as Patrick Mark Boehm (his father was a fan of actor Patrick McGoohan at this time), Paddy was interested from early on in drawing and funny arts. At the age of 15 he started the comic-fanzine "Zeitlupe" together with his younger brother Tim. They did this for 10 years.While his brother was always the man for cartoons, comics and animation, Paddy does illustration and caricature. He was influenced by franco-belgian comic-artists as Uderzo, Morris, Franquin, Tabary and caricaturist like Mulatier, Morchoisne, Volker Ernsting and of course Sebastian Krueger. After he finished school, he learned graphic-design and is now working as a layouter in a publishing house. His greatest love is still caricature and music (he plays drums).

Jan Op De Beeck : Born in Congo in 1958, moved into Belgium in 1960. Obtained mastership in 1979 at Sint-Thomas in Brussels. Started teaching arts in 1979 at the Coloma Institute in Mechelen. Married in 1979 to Chris, the children are Lieven (1980), Katrijn (1982) and Pieter (1985). Graduated in model drawing at the Royal Academy in Mechelen. Made caricatures for several publications in Belgian press. Won several awards in Belgium, France, Poland, Portugal, and Iran (2002).Was elected in 2003 as 'World's Best Caricaturist' by the Professional cartoonists in Iran.Was invited in Saint-Just-Le-Martel, Saint-Estève and Samer (France) several times.Did masterclass with Sebastian Krueger in Seixal (Portugal) in June 2001.Guest of honour in Ourense (Spain) and Dubai (UAE) in March 2002.Guest speaker - with Sebastian Krueger - during the NCN Convention in Orlando, Florida in January 2003.Working visits at the studios of Alcis Szabo-Reiss (Germany), Superbi (Italy), Krueger (Germany) and Turcios (Spain), spring 2003.Guest artist in Porto (Portugal) in May 2003.Invited to Tokyo (Japan) at Central West Entertainment by his friend and caricaturist Kage Nakanishi in May 2004.
Working visits at the studios of Ismael Roldan and Garrett Bender (USA, New York), November 2004.Seminars at the NCN convention in Las Vegas, February 2005.Co-organiser and seminars at the First European Minicon in Malaga, November 2005.Invited to Tehran (Iran) to be a member of the Jury for the 7th Tehran international cartoon festival.
