Pencil Vs Camera - 77

Space shuttles taking off from the heart of Seoul, South Korea - Pencil vs Camera by Ben Heine
Space shuttles taking off from the heart of Seoul - Art by Ben Heine
Another creative project I made at Cheonggyecheon, South Korea. This picture shows space shuttles taking off from the heart of the city. It is about underground life and new technologies in Korea. You can view the sketch in progress here below and at this link. This image was printed and exhibited among other artworks at Hyehwa Art Center in Seoul, only a few days after its creation! If you wish to buy a signed limited edition print of this artwork, please contact info@benheine.com or contact@inmd.co.kr. View the other artwork I made in Seoul. Also view my photos of Seoul by nightAll the photos in this blog post were taken with the Samsung Galaxy NX Camera.

Cheonggyecheon is an 8.4 km (5.2 miles) long, modern public recreation space in downtown Seoul. The massive urban renewal project is on the site of a stream that flowed before the rapid post-war economic development required it to be covered by transportation infrastructure. The $900 million project initially attracted much public criticism but, after opening in 2005, has become popular among city residents and tourists.

This is a photo I took from a plane a few weeks ago (we were flying over Switzerland at 10 km above the ground!). I've repainted several parts of the picture. The mountains look rather small because we were very high, but they are huge, many of them exceed 4,000 m with the highest, Monte Rosa, reaching to 4,638 metres (15,217 ft), and there are also numerous glaciers including several of the largest in the Alps, such as the Aletsch Glacier, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2001 with a length of about 24 km and covering more than 120 square kilometres!)

I Have Also Seen This in Paris
.

I took the initial background photo from Montmartre's hill in Paris, France and then added the 2 birds (coming from one of my photo sessions realized during a trip in England) with a huge scale contrast to give the whole scenery a surreal look... (Reminder: Every graphic element shown on my blog comes from my own production/stock and all my photos, paintings and drawings are copyrighted, thanks)

Big Brother
(Speed Painting)

This is my first attempt to make a digital painting of a robot.
This is a speed painting that took me some 20 minutes
of work. I made the first sketch in about 2 minutes
in Alchemy and then went on in Photoshop CS4
