Meadow of Grass

By David Anthony

I lie here in this meadow of grass
Counting clouds as they pass

Day dreaming without a care
The soft wind blowing through my hair

The warm sun feels good on my bare skin
I wish this feeling would never end

But soon the dark clouds reappear
Bringing back all my fears

To never feel the warmth of her hand
To never see her beauty again

To only know her leaving words
To only remember those piercing swords

To never feel her gift of love
To never be her only one

The rain pours down on me all around
Drowning out all the sounds

No birds' songs no crickets' chirps
No way to avoid all this hurt

I want to run but cannot move
My body feels the overwhelming blue

Then a rainbow shows through the lightning and rain
To remind me soon there will be no more pain

The sun comes again as the dark clouds pass
And my dreams return in this meadow of grass

In Between the Lines

By Peter S. Quinn

In between the lines
Something needs to be written
Words for word it defines
What in meaning lies hidden
Plastic world outside
Within its lots of name
Through daily routine's hide
Never exactly the same

The complicated in us
Finding the in between
Roads away and across
Nothing from the outside seen
You and I of just two
Similar spices in line
Know what gets here through
And forces together combine

Yesterdays were ours
With tomorrow still to come
From lost world's inside powers
That we don't know where are from
Something is never finished
Only like smoke in thin air
In its drifting diminished
Away from reality here

I'm a Martyr
of the Keyboard

.
By Peter S Quinn (*)

I type all day long
Into the request deep
Sometimes it’ll ping-pong
Right into my sleep
I'm a martyr of the keyboard
Going down deep under
To the alphabet lord
God of the ticktick thunder!

I'll type for a request
Just to please and be ready
I'll try to do my best
If my fingers go on steady
This and that comes out
I have no complete control
Automation knows its ways about
Around the ‘key-mole’
And keyhole

I type all day to spark
And give it a steady beat
But sometimes it’ll all lack
Except its little tweet
This maybe a dark poetry read
With not much in deeper meaning
But to somewhere it will lead
In a steady and closer
