Climate Changes

Abstract Art by artist Ben Heine

Detail of a wide acrylic abstract painting (recent project). I titled it "Climate Changes" because I had the feeling it looked like clouds and tornadoes seen from space but with strange colors... :)

Dreams fly away like daisies in the grass.

Another portrait of Suzy.
Location: Astrid Park, Anderlecht, Belgium.
If you wish, you can view a detail here.

Time to Use Some 3D Glasses

Nice, I received this in my email box a few days ago.
Many thanks to Dan Jacob for making this 3D effect!
Original picture.

Another cat I found in a park near Sousse in Tunisia... I didn't change the colors, it's an albinos kitty with 2 different eye colors. It's very rare. I'll post more pictures of this sweet creepy thing soon.

This is the landscape I saw from the top of Beynac Castle, in the Dordogne department of France. I visited this beautiful place last week. I spent several days to assemble and edit some 20 photos I took there (no Fisheye and no AutoPano). The original image is huge and it was quite a challenge this time because my graphic tablet just got damaged and I had to do everything with a standard mouse. :)

End the pollution of the planet, save our Earth!
(I sadly discovered this in a forest, I took the
photo and also made the rough sketch)

Detail:

This is a view of the countryside in Belgium.
I took the photo and drew the sketch (I wanted
to make a very simplified composition on
the paper to match the landscape).

Château de la Hulpe
.

I took this photo in La Hulpe near Brussels. The "La Hulpe Castle" was built in 1842 and overlooks nearly 220 hectares of meadows, woods and ponds on the edge of the nearby Soignes forest. The old Solvay field is a splendid extension of the forest and has some remarkable trees. It is a beautiful place for walking and relaxation. So much green, so much blue...

Carbon Tax
.

(Note: this is an illustration I made for the magazine
"Imagine Demain le Monde" www.imagine-magazine.com)
.
A carbon tax is an environmental tax on emissions of carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is a heat-trapping "greenhouse" gas. The purpose of a carbon tax is to protect the environment by reducing emissions of carbon dioxide, helping to mitigate climate change.
I Am a Freegan
.
.
Freeganism is an anti-consumerist lifestyle whereby people employ alternative living strategies based on "limited participation in the conventional economy and minimal consumption of resources". Freegans "embrace community, generosity, social concern, freedom, cooperation, and sharing in opposition to a society based on materialism, moral apathy, competition, conformity, and greed." The lifestyle involves salvaging discarded, unspoiled food from supermarket dumpsters, known as dumpster diving. Freegans salvage the food for political reasons, rather than out of need.

The word "freegan" is a portmanteau of "free" and "vegan". Freeganism started in the mid 1990s, out of the antiglobalization and environmentalist movements. The movement also has elements of Diggers, an anarchist street theater group based in Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco in the 1960s, that gave away rescued food. (Text's source: Wikipedia)
