Pencil Vs Camera - 74

Ben Heine Art - 3D Drawing - Pencil Vs Camera - Tiger Owl and Artist in Forest - 2013
Pencil Vs Camera - 74 © Ben Heine| Buy a print
My new giant 3D drawing featuring a tiger and an owl in a dense forest. It is part of my "Pencil Vs Camera" series (the concept is reversed in this image, the only piece of reality in the composition being the human model...). The wild animals and the forest are actually anamorphic sketches drawn on a huge piece of paper in my studio, no more, no less than optical illusions.

A quiet tiger, a scary owl and an imprudent artist, maybe an unexpected trio. I took the photo (using a tripod and a self timer) and also made the giant sketch (handmade,
as usual). View the sketch in progress and some details here below to understand how it is made. New: find some prints of mine for sale (including the above picture) or some fun products and gifts with many of my other designs.

Abandoned Cats
.

.
All these cats are homeless. They manage to survive thanks
to the kindness of some people feeding them
in the street when it's possible...

Follow Your Dreams

By Peter S. Quinn

Follow your dreams that go by
Filling each moment on
Feelings of love low and high
Until each thought is gone
Closeness to them is everything
Of every hour everyday
They are the reason I still sing
Into departures that can't stay

Yesterdays are to remember
With every its old song to borrow
Like the leaves of reddish amber
Or dawn rising once more tomorrow
But our dreams never come true
They are only in the heart to glow
Mind-sets and thoughts to renew
Before they for evermore shall go

Follow your dreams for they leave
Everything is at all times falling
Hours will come of lost and grieve
And again to those times calling

I thought it might be interesting to post this.
I took the photos with a Nikon D70
and edited them in Photoshop.

The Light
by its Creation

.
By Joanne Monte

from the beginning,
was meant to douse the darkness
as it did then in that year;

to sparkle the snowflake
that caught the fringe
of a child's eyelash in the Urals of winter

as it backlit
the blue in his mother's tears;

meant to splash
into the bucket of reindeer milk

as it splashed on the shoulders of peasants
toiling in the fields of revolution
that they, themselves, had plowed;

to creep without reservation
into the blacksmith's shop in Bukhara,
past old city walls;

meant to warm
the bread at supper, the bowl
of sunflower seeds; the sleeping children
in their utopia, snug in blankets
loomed with parrot and peacock feathers
and red squares. But this

had been a dream of light,
and by its creation,
meant to reveal what had been done
in darkness behind the barbed wire,
sharpened by secrets;

the brine pits where men were beaten
into their labor, ankle-deep in mire;
their hands stung by salt water
and the pull of cabbages;

meant to glisten
the sweat on their backs,
and in the beards of Old Believers
wishing to go back before the slaughter,
the forced starvation, the mass graves;

before the light
was meant to pour down the throat
of the iris, choking on its stalk;

before it poured across the canvas
on which Goya painted Saturn
Devouring His Children.
